Hi,
The name of this mailing list is "worldsocialforum-discuss" and
according to its disclaimer "WSFDiscuss is an open and unmoderated
forum for the exchange of information and views on the experience,
etc."
As a member of this list and recipient of its messages, I consider
that it is my right to wonder:
* Are we going to respect the principles of discussion, forum
openness, exchange of facts etc.?
* Or are we going to be using the list as a means of an one-person
emission of information which could pretty easily be hosted at a web
site or a blogger?
* Is there any essential reason to disseminate such messages inside
the list, unless they concern urgent alerts or action calls related to
the WSF?
* Don't we need first to be involved in real discussions and debates
in the context of which such a dissemination of informational material
would support our arguments and positions? Is there any meaning to
informational dissemination without a previous discussion or
argumentation on the underlined issues?
* Why such a passivity?
I appreciate MN sanil's (and others' similar) efforts and this should
not be taken as a reaction to him/her (and others) but I would like to
raise a question of principles around the purposes of this list.
In solidarity,
--Moses Boudourides
