Mexico, Jan 23 (Prensa Latina) The Mexico-2008 World Social Forum (WSF)
represents a viable national and international movement against neoliberal
globalization, said Eduardo Correa, from the organizing committee.

"We hope to foster as of today exchanges of strategies to create a common
political space," the Mexican university professor from the Human Rights
Master's Degree told Prensa Latina.

In the WSF's first working session, Correa stated the position by the
progressive Mexican trend against the current capitalist policies.

"The idea is," Correa said, "to develop several systems of logic against the
neoliberal experiment and generate mobilizations to enrich the expectation
that a better world is possible."

"The Forum includes several organizations capable of convening grass-roots
sectors to achieve reconciliation worldwide," he stated.

Correa pointed out that the gathering will continue debates until Saturday
in the capital to boost global change and fight poverty, exploitation and
ecological disaster.

Unions, civil groups and social movements will examine on Global Action Day
in Mexico racism, land rights, indigenous people, autonomy, dispossession of
public goods and cooperative economy.

The WSF actions will be carried out in over 70 cities of the planet through
simultaneous programs, as part of a challenge to the World Economic Forum
that for over 25 years meets in Davos, Switzerland, with the transnational
contest.
