*Neo-liberalism Nixed at Guatemala Forum*

Guatemala, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) Unionists denounced Thursday at the third
Americas Social Forum Guatemala October 2008 Neo-liberalism has eroded
negative effects, generating mass unemployment, law salaries and loss of
labor successes in the continent.

Current problems of workers come from the never-ending neo-liberal increase
that proposes labor flexibility, the deregulation of employer-employee
relations, Guatemalan Roberto Madriz affirmed.

FNL (National Front of Struggle) leader added this situation and the
impossibility of the peoples to live with dignity causes them to immigrate
US and a series of adverse consequences for popular sectors.

Madriz urged worker's movement to urgently rescue its position as a class
and be committed as a natural allied of other popular sectors for the
construction of a better world.

Representatives from more than 600 union organizations of the continent,
including Guatemalan organizations participate at the third Americas Social
Forum Guatemala October 2008.
