1) Fourteen Social Forum were held in the world just in January
The Great Social Forum Porto Alegre, held from January 25th to 29th was only
the first from a serie of events that will be held around the world
throughout this year. All meetings will be themed around the civilizational
crisis that affects humanity nowadays. The proposal is take the results of
these reflections for the next World Social Forum, to be held in Dakar
(Senegal / Africa). Click here and check the next events.

be held in Brazil, from 26th to 27th february (FMEIJ) is one of
the next event. Education as a right and public good will be the focus of
the event.
2) Registration for the U.S. Social Forum is opened
The U.S. Social Forum to be held in Detroit from June 22 to 26, is already
receiving registrations for participants http://ussf2010.org/register.People
can register as either an Individual or as an Organization. Organizational
registrations allow to propose a session, include up to three individuals
from your organization to register at no extra cost (additional individuals
can be registered for a small extra fee) and support the Social Forum
process by contributing organization-level registration fees
Individual registrants may enter the organization they are affiliated with,
but may not submit a session proposal.
The inscriptions of the activities end on March 15. They can be made in

3) New websites focused in WSF 2010
Two new websites with information about the World Social Forum 2010 are on
line: IPS Terra <http://www.ips.org/TV/wsf2010> and Virtual Media
Center<http://www.worldsocialforum.info/homepage>.
Both will cover events that will be held throughout the year untill the
World Social Forum in Dakar (Senegal) in 2011.

4) Help build the Social Forum of the Americas
The organization of the IV Americas Social

which will be held from August 11th to 15th , in Paraguay, is collecting
suggestions for the topics of the event. Those interested in participating
in this process have until February 20th to e-mail or mail their proposals,
filling in brief form availble on
